Types of Transport Methods Roll On / Roll Off: Also known as RO/RO is often the least expensive, most efficient method of overseas car shipping. Your vehicle is driven directly into the Ship's hold and is secured inside the car deck. Your vehicle does need to be operational and you cannot transport other goods with this method. Shipping Containers: Your vehicle is loaded and secured in a shipping container. The vehicle is placed inside either a 20 ft or a 40 ft ocean container and strapped down and secured.
